Kidnapped US Missionary worker regains freedom

The American Missionary worker, Rev. Phyllis Sortor, who was kidnapped in the Hope Academy Compound in Kogi state on Monday February 23rd has regained her freedom. According to the Kogi state Police Commissioner, no ransom was paid for her freedom.

Fayose condemns Lagos APC 1-Million-Man March, Says; "Buhari has vindicated me"

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has described the planned One-Million-Man March by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos as a plot by the party to cause chaos and pandemonium in the State, so as to take the minds of the public away from the lies they told about the health status of the party's presidential candidate, Major General Mohammadu Buhari (rtd). The governor also said that he had been vindicated by Buhari, having admitted that he actually travelled to the United Kingdom to rest and that he visited his doctors.

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will tomorrow, Saturday, March 7, 2015 lead government officials as well as sportsmen and women on an out-door physical training exercise in Abuja aimed at promoting sports and fitness in Nigeria. The training exercise, which will start at 7.00 am, will include a long walk from the Presidential Villa by President Jonathan accompanied by top government officials, Presidential aides, political associates, leading sports personalities and enthusiasts. Nurse narrates how her security guard connived with robbers to attack her home

The Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Lagos State Police Command is currently investigating a case of how a man simply identified as Tunde, the security guard of Nurse Ukamaka Onyeka,( pictured above) invited armed robbers to attack her home in the Ago area of Lagos state.

Narrating her ordeal to Sun News, Onyeka said;
“On the fateful day, my husband traveled out of Lagos, leaving me, my children, house-help and our security guard.  I went to work and returned late at night. When I drove into our compound, I did not expect that armed robbers were at our security post.  We have a dog but it did not bark. Immediately, I alighted from my car and entered my room, two men armed with knife and cutlass pounced on me and warned that I must co-operate with them as two others armed with guns were keeping watch at our gate. They pushed me down, tied my hands and legs with rope.

President Jonathan negotiating to stop execution of 3 Nigerians in Indonesia

When he hosted the new Indonesian ambassador to Nigeria, Harry Purwanto, two days ago at the presidential villa, Pres. Goodluck Jonathan began negotiations with him for a moratorium on three Nigerians who are facing imminent execution in that country.

The three Nigerians are Silvester Obiekwe Nwolise (39), Okwudili Oyatanze (40), and Spanish born Nigerian Raheem Agbaje Salami (45). They are facing execution alongside six other foreign nationals for drug-related offences by the Indonesian authorities.
Indonesian president, JokoWidodo, rejected pleas for clemency, saying the country is suffering a drug emergency and already, Indonesia’s attorney-general, Muhammad Prasetyo, says preparations have been concluded at the execution site were they are to face a firing squad.
It is unclear when the execution will take place, but yesterday,  Australian Andrew Chan (31), his country man, MyuranSukumaran (33), Agbaje Salami, and Mary Jane Fiesta Veloso (30) from the Philippines were moved…

Photos: Actor Harrison Ford plane survives plane crash in LA

He's not just a hero in his action films, he's one in real life. Actor Harrison Ford, 72, saved his life and that of others yesterday. He was flying a small vintage plane in Venice, California on Thursday afternoon when the engine failed. He managed to fly to plane to Penmar golf course and made a crash landing there to avoid human casualty. He was the only person in the plane at the time of the crash.

The experienced pilot, who has been flying since the 60s, sustained head wounds and bled profusely. He was transported to the UCLA trauma centre where he's currently receiving treatment for injuries he sustained from the crash. His son, Ben Ford later tweeted to fans to assure them that his dad is ok
