Keyamo has mouth diarrhoea for saying Ogah be sworn in as Abia Governor – Ohaneze youths
Recall that Justice Okon Abang of an Abuja Federal High Court had on June 27 invalidated the election of embattled governor of Abia State, Okezie Ipeazu over allaged tax evasion.
Consequently, the judge had ordered the Independent Electorial Commission, INEC, to issue Ogah who came second during the 2014 Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship primaries in the state, with certificate of return which was done, though he has not been sworn in.
Following the court’s ruling and Ikpeazu’s refusal to vacate office, Keyamo maintained that the embattled governor was occuping Abia State illegally as the certificate of return issued to Ogah invalidates his.
But OYC in a statement by its Abia State Chairman, Okemiri Alex urged Nigerians to ignore Keyamo’s call, saying the senior lawyer was suffering from “verbal diarrhea.”
According to the pan-Igbo group, Keyamo ought to know that the case was already being challenged in the Appeal Court.
“It is nothing but a verbal diarrhoea. Is Keyamo not aware that the Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, is in the Appeal Court to challenge the decision of the Federal High Court in Abuja?
“Why do all manner of people make unguarded statements on the Abia issue just to be noticed, rewarded or just talk for talking sake?
“Festus Keyamo should keep his mouth shut and allow the Court of Appeal at Abuja to do its job. There should be no trial on the pages of the newspaper.
“Even the AGF has made it clear that the case should be unfettered even up to the Supreme Court, if necessary.”
